Alight in University Avenue at the University main gate (Exact Fare required. approx. £1.80), cross University Avenue at the lights and walk up the hill to the Fraser Building on your right.
For the University Chapel, walk down the hill, cross University Avenue, enter the University main gate, turn right, then left.

From the Hotel, turn left into Sauchiehall Street, left again into Kelvingrove Street which leads into the Park, keep walking past the fountain and pond, turn left at the Soldiers’ Memorial to cross the Prince of Wales Bridge over the Kelvin River and follow the path to the right of Thomas Carlysle’s statue up to Kelvin Way. Cross Kelvin Way, walk to your right, then turn left into University Avenue. Walk up the hill to the main gate and Security Office.
For the Fraser Building, cross University Avenue, walk straight up the hill to the Fraser Building on your right. For the Chapel, walk back down the hill, cross University Avenue, turn right, then left.

- Take a taxi from the Queen Street Station Rank to McLay Guest House (Fare, approx. £4,00).
OR Hail the Glasgow Station Link Bus No. 398 from the Killermont Street stop for Queen Street Station to go to the Gordon Street entrance to Glasgow Central Station. (Exact fare required, approx. 90 pence). From Gordon Street, walk to and cross Hope Street at the lights. Hail Bus Nos. 44 or 44A at the stop on the corner of Hope and Bothwell Streets. Alight at the stop under the footbridge over the M8 Motorway (Fare, approx. £1.80), walk over the footbridge into Renfrew Street and up to the McLay Guest House.
- To register and attend the Concert at the Glasgow University Frazer Building and Chapel: Hail Bus nos. 11, 44 or 44A from the same stop under the footbridge over the M8 motorway and alight in University Avenue at the main gate to Glasgow University. Getting from Glasgow Caledonian University to Glasgow University
and back
After paper sessions at Glasgow Caledonian University (downtown) each
day, coach transport to Glasgow University Chapel (in the West End)
and various other venues
for concerts and recitals will be provided by Allander Coaches.
At the end of the concert or recital, return coach transport to the
accommodation venues will also be provided.
Bus number 11 from Cathedral Street or Bath Street
and bus number 44 from Hope Street near the corner
of Bath Street also go
directly to Glasgow University (NB Bath Street is the continuation of
Cathedral Street). Bus number 11 runs at 30-minute intervals, and number
44 at 15-minute intervals.
Catch bus number 11 at stops 196, 168 or 171 on the south side of the
street; catch bus 44 at stops 014 (west side) and 171 (south side) (click

Caledonian University). In order to promote car use, the operators
neither give change on the busses, nor print the bus stop numbers on the
bus stop sign, nor in most cases give any indication when one should alight
(ask the driver to tell you).

to the city in the vicinity of Glasgow Caledonian University.
Alight bus 11 in West Nile Street, near the corner of West Regent Street, and walk
north up West Nile Street, then turn right into Cawcaddens Road.
Alight bus 44 in Renfrew Street at the RSAMD (Hope Street) and walk
along Renfrew Street which becomes Killermont Street,
to and through the Bus Station (on your left), cross Cowcaddens Road and stright
into Glasgow Caledonian University.
There is also a taxi rank across Cowcaddens Road from GCU (inside
Buchanan Bus Station on its northern end).
Taxis to GU involve quite a short journey (fare about £7!).
